2005-07-26 [Rondel]: According to the material I've found (by way of a really easy Google search on the phrase "Auden and Skyler"), the girls were doing this as a school project. The paragraph above, giving their screen names, is taken VERBATIM from http://www.oasismag.com/node/view/12402 Given the comments that one of the two girls has made in her "myspace" page, I strongly doubt that she has given her consent for her picture to be posted here, especially as part of a plagiarized comment saying that she has been "named and shamed". Whether you think that these girls were right to do what they did, or not, both plagiarism and posting another person's photo without their consent are against Elftown's rules.

2005-07-26 [Rondel]: Please think twice about what you've posted here, and try to see both sides of what's going on here, before breaking the rules here in order to react in a backlash against two teenage girls whose situation can best be summed up by this quote from the above-listed "myspace" page: " People took that shit way too far and don't see the reasoning behind it enough to understand." Did this "hoax" get people thinking about equal rights, and the high rate of suicide among gay teens? Is that a bad thing? All of you care so much about this issue -- maybe it would be worth looking at the situation from another point of view. Do you know for sure what these girls were *trying* to do? Or why?

2005-07-26 [Rondel]: Meanwhile, you've got photos of two guys up here, without even knowing who they are -- much less getting their consent to have their photos posted. That violates the Uploading Art Rules, as well. I'd rather see people take stock of the situation, think it through, and correct the problems themselves, rather than see the guards have to do it for them -- but the guys who belong to those faces really don't deserve to have those faces plastered all over the web like this, without their knowledge or consent. If it wasn't right for the girls to use the guys' images without their consent, can you really justify breaking the Uploading Art Rules yourselves, in order to post them here?

2005-07-27 [TheFragile6]: I dont think that The rules Have a lot of stock in this situation, I do respect them being elftown rules. But what those girls did, no matter WHAT thier reasoning for doing so, was wrong. and Hurt alot of people in the process.
